Just this past January, ColorQuartz introduced their newest color options at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas. Since then, ColorQuartz has been on a “World Tour” of sorts, participating in stone fairs and trade events across the globe. Throughout this year, ColorQuartz will reveal their latest products at events in Brazil, China, Dubai, Italy, and Turkey, showing why the quartz surface manufacturer is one of the fastest growing companies in the surfacing industry.

What makes ColorQuartz a great product? Well, for starters the company has invested over $10 million in quartz technology research and development. The company’s core technologies, from silicon-resin infusion techniques to veining-pattern mixing, provide a base for quartz surface engineering. ColorQuartz’s major research and development facilities are located at the company’s Diamond Bar, CA headquarters. The company applies deep expertise across a broad range of technical disciplines to improve production and to innovate new and exciting colors.

ColorQuartz has the ability to streamline production because the company owns the quarries where it obtains the natural quartz material used in its products. Located just outside of Shanghai in China, the quartz quarries allow the company to ensure that only premium level quartz is used to make ColorQuartz.

Whereas granite, marble, soapstone, and others are all natural stone surfaces, quartz is engineered. However, it’s more than just an “imitation” of natural stone. ColorQuartz is 93-percent ground natural quartz, which, its worth noting, is one of the hardest minerals on earth. The quartz is mixed in with polymer resin and pigments to bind the quartz particles together. The result is a product that’s extremely strong.

Its durability is one of the reasons quartz surfacing is now up at the top of the list, along with granite, for countertop choices. ColorQuartz is highly resistant to scratching, chipping, and staining. It’s non-porous so liquids, oils, and acids won’t harm the surface. It won’t harbor harmful bacteria since nothing can penetrate the surface. Also, unlike granite and marble, it never needs to be sealed.

Although ColorQuartz is “nearly” indestructible, you do need to be careful with hot pots and pans. It’s always good practice to use a trivet or hot pad and avoid placing hot cookware directly on the surface.

The newest color from ColorQuartz, Calacatta Novus

Have you seen the newest ColorQuartz color choice? Made to look like authentic Italian marble, Calacatta Novus features wispy gray grains on a pure white background. It is by far the most natural looking “marble” for any quartz in the market. It offers the beauty of marble, however it’s virtually maintenance-free. Stop by either of our two New England area showroom locations in Westwood, MA and Milford, CT. Our team of surfacing experts would be happy to show you the wide array of ColorQuartz available for all of your kitchen countertop needs, no matter what design style you prefer.
