Crystaline Stone: Surfacing Inspired by the Sea

Crystaline Stone: Surfacing Inspired by the Sea

March 04, 2014

Aquamarine gemstones in shimmering blue turquoise are as beautiful as the ocean is deep. While it may not be practical to cover walls, floors, or countertops with authentic aquamarines, Crystaline Stone offers an option that’s definitely doable - The Gems Collection.

Literally translated as “water of the sea,” aquamarines are mined in Brazil, Colombia, Zambia, Madagascar, Tanzania, and even in the U.S. in Colorado and Wyoming. But it would take an awful lot of mining to create slabs such as this one on display at Marble and Granite, Inc. Crystaline Stone offers the next best thing to authentic gemstones.

Aquamarine Gems Collection

The Gems collection inspires boundless creative opportunities with surfacing that resemble genuine stones like rubies, diamonds, and emeralds. With a process called Inter-Crystaline Technological Coloring, the material uses high temperatures and pressure, combined with specially developed sealants and pigments, to molecularly fuse bold, permanent color throughout the stone. The result is a remarkably durable and colorful material with the same properties and characteristics as the original natural stones (which are typically White Marbles and Grey Granites.) Easier to clean than traditional stone, Crystaline Stone adds an amazing ambiance to any setting—especially when backlit. Light filters through, dances off of and plays with the surface creating a luxuriously breathtaking effect.
