Tip One: Don't use acids

There are some surfaces that benefit from being cleaned by highly acidic solutions, but granite is not one of them. Acids can cause your granite to stain or become etched.

Instead of cleaning solutions that are high in acids, use a simple solution comprised of water and dish soap or a product recommended by the fabricator. Using a solution that is mild enough for granite will protect your countertops against any permanent damage from cleaning.

Tip Two: Don't be abrasive 

Make sure to use something soft when cleaning and wiping down your granite countertops. A soft wash cloth or dish drying towel will ensure that your granite countertops do not end up being scratched. 

Tip Three: Remove stubborn stains with a poultice

Let's say that your granite countertops do stain, due to some type of spilled liquid that you couldn’t clean up quick enough. The best way to get rid of them is to use a poultice. Following all the instructions just as they are printed on the poultice will ensure that the stain is lifted.
