A: It’s true that some of the most gorgeous marble in the world has come from Italy. But, it may surprise you to learn that some stunning, high-quality marble choices are available right here in the United States. Your designer isn’t leading you astray!

We may not have the long history of quarrying marble such as Italy or Spain, but that doesn’t mean the natural stone found right here in the US is any less beautiful.

For example, the famous Danby Marble Quarry in Vermont has produced breathtaking marble for more than 100 years. It’s this very stone that went into building national monuments such as the Jefferson Memorial, the Supreme Court, and Arlington National Amphitheatre.

What’s even more interesting is that Imperial Danby  marble is now one of the top choices when it comes to marble kitchen countertops. One of the reasons is that it’s a stunning product. But another reason is that price of Italian marble has risen so much that comparable products in the US make far more economical sense to buyers.

Another gorgeous white marble found in the USA is Calacatta Lincoln

The quarry near Aspen, Colorado was discovered in 1873 in the Colorado Rockies at an altitude of 9,300 feet above sea level. The quarry is inside the mountain, therefore production happens all year-round. The Lincoln Memorial was made from this marble...which gave the product its name.
